Oh no! Can you help us?

We came in this morning to a mysterious crime scene! We have no idea what has happened but after a little bit of detective work, we have decided that Goldelocks was here. It would appear she wasn’t by herself though as she’s disappeared.

Can you help us?

What do you think has happened?

Who has taken her?

Where could she be?

Why do you think this has happened?

1KL Purple Mash

By K Lawson5th February 2017

On Friday (3.2.17) the children all received a login card for Purple Mash. This is a fantastic website with lots of different activities for the children to do.

Please check it out www.purplemash.com/ashley

There is already an activity waiting for you…

This week as part of our literacy lessons, we will be learning about pural/singular words and adding the prefix -un. There are games on the Purple Mash website to support the learning, if you would like to give them a try!

If you lose your login card, please let me know and I can write down the login details again.

Miss Lawson.

Last week as part of literacy and topic work we made Gingerbread Men! With our partner, we had to work together to read and follow the instructions. It was lots of fun and our Gingerbread Men didn’t escape thankfully.

If anyone would like a copy of the instructions to make these at home, please ask!

1KL – The Openzone Visit

By K Lawson22nd January 2017
IMG_2318 IMG_2328 IMG_2354 IMG_2361 IMG_2378

Way back in November, we went on a school visit to the Openzone @ The Word in South Shields and we had such a fantastic time with all things technology! When we arrived we were allowed to colour in some lovely pictures, however this was no ordinary colouring in. Once we were finished, we used an app on the iPad to make our pictures come to life. It was incredible!

After that, working with a partner we were challenged to follow instructions and programme Blue-Bots so they would move around special Blue-bot mats. This was a little bit tricky at first and we had to revise left and right directions… but we managed eventually.

It got a little bit crowded when we were programming Blue Bots so one group at a time we went into the film room to record and star in our very own film! Each group chose a different nursery rhyme to sing and Amanda filmed us. She then edited the filming and put all the videos together to make one big film. It was amazing, we felt like we were in a real film studio – like super stars! Just ask us for our autographs…

Even lunch time wasn’t boring! We got to have our lunch in the 360 story room with Santa’s little helpers. They were super busy getting ready for Christmas.

Then, on the afternoon we got to play with some brand new touchscreen laptops. We created simple animations of the Gingerbread Man using the software 2Paint. It was surprisingly easy and very fun.

Sadly, our day ended far too quickly but while we were waiting for the bus we popped into the Ridley Scott exhibition. We saw the terrifying Alien creature except the only person that got a shock and was scared was Miss Lawson!
